A warm Welsh welcome awaits you at Cwmsaeson caravan Park. Set in unspoilt surroundings on the outskirts of the small hamlet of Derwen-Gam (Oakford). We are ideally located equal distance between the popular coastal towns of Aberaeron and New Quay with easy access to the whole of the county of Ceredigion.
Relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery and wonderful beaches is easy, if that’s what you want, but you may also like to try walking the spectacular coastal paths, sailing, surfing or dolphin watching. A boat trip from New Quay is an excellent way to see much of the coastal wildlife and you will usually spot grey seals and dolphins on the trip.
Much of the Ceredigion coastline is designated heritage coast and we have a coastal path running the whole 60 miles of coastline. The bay is also home to a resident population of some 130 bottle nose dolphins (these can often be seen from the quay in New Quay).
The coast is dotted with picturesque villages and small towns which are well worth exploring. New Quay and Aberaeron are a mecca with tourists and the coves at Llangranog and Cwmtydu are always popular.
Food and drink are very important in Ceredigion’s economy and you will find some of Wales finest food served locally. Local produce such as lamb and beef, as well as the freshly caught seafood can be found on the menus of the many pubs and restaurants. Local dairy produce is also very popular with superb specialty chesses, yogurts and ice creams produced in the area. The biggest of these Rachel’s Organic dairy is well known in supermarkets across the county and the blue bottled Ty Nant water, bottled locally is famous around the globe.
Within walking distance you can go fishing or pony treking and with a short drive, you can be go-carting, cycling one of the many scenic cycle paths or visit one of the many tourist attractions. A short drive inland will let you explore the often over looked Cambrian mountains with some spectacular views and world class mountain bike trails.
The area surrounding Cwmsaeson Caravan park has always been very popular with visitors, and the local area makes a great effort to ensure that all visitors enjoy their stay. To this end, during the summer months different activities and events are held each weekend.
One of the most popular events is the Welsh Cob festival held in Aberaeron each year, attracting Welsh Cob and horse enthusiasts from around the country.
This is followed a couple of weeks later with the Aberaeron Carnival, arguably the best in Wales. A Jazz band leads the procession which starts at 1:30 from the Harbour master on the quay.
